Matthew 4 Is a passage that describes Jesus led by the Spirit, praying and fasting in the wilderness!
If He did such how much more we of little faith need to call on our heavenly Father for everything we need to live the Christian life! Take the time to PRAY! Prayer is simly put "talking to God" - the most intimate communication with the Lord - Jesus calls us friend - He is the friend that sticks closer than a brother! Friendship requires relationship - abiding in Him and His Word! Fasting - is to draw us closer to him- there is no magic in fasting - but there is focus in fasting - the pangs remind us what we are praying about and to Whom.
We can fast - something to deny our flesh - and boy I know how strong the flesh is! So.. the fast is a meal - an activity - anything we normaly do - when the flesh want - desires it.... we immediately focus back on God and His Words in scripture!
We can call upon Him and expect great and mighty things as we abide in Him and His will ! ....Prayer: Lord Jesus today we focus on you and your words in the Bible : If you abide in Me and My words abide in you , you will ask what you desire and it shall be done for you! Lord Reach Ireland!!!!! Reach Jacksonville Lord Reach our families and friends our communities! Reach Mexico! Reach Kenya! And Lord here we are use us according to your will ...in Jesus name AMEN!
